If you see 702-899-0905 on your caller ID, that's a number NDOC lists for SDCC calls. It can be confusing - it doesn't look like a typical prison number and won't match any public office line. That's because NDOC contracts with Viapath Technologies for inmate calling and billing, so calls route through the vendor's system rather than a facility phone.

Note: NDOC uses Viapath as its phone vendor, so the number on your caller ID may be a vendor-routed number - not a direct SDCC staff line.

There are three main ways to pay for calls from SDCC. With prepaid AdvancePay, you set up an account through Viapath/ConnectNetwork - online, by phone, or with customer support - and calls draw from that balance. Traditional collect calls bill directly to your local phone bill, if your carrier allows it. The third option is offender debit: the incarcerated person uses money from their NDOC Trust account to buy calling time through the facility's Offender Services Commissary.

Warning: Traditional collect calling only works if your local phone company permits it. Expect a 90-day rolling spending limit and possible monthly fees from your provider.

  1. Decide if prepaid AdvancePay is your best fit - This is the option where you create and fund an account on the outside through Viapath/ConnectNetwork.
  2. Set up the account through the automated phone system - Call 1-800-483-8314 to create and fund the prepaid account through Viapath’s IVR.
  3. Use live support if you need help - Call 1-877-650-4249 to speak with a Viapath Customer Care representative.
  4. Or set it up online - You can also create and manage the account through the ConnectNetwork web portal.
  5. Add funds as needed - Friends and family can fund calling accounts through the IVR, the web portal, or with customer support, depending on what’s easiest for you.

Tip: Have the incarcerated person's information and facility name ready before you start. If the automated system gives you trouble, customer care can walk you through setup.

Traditional collect calls work like a "bill me" option - charges go to your local phone bill if your carrier allows collect billing. Keep in mind that providers often impose a 90-day rolling spending limit and may charge a monthly fee.

With offender debit calling, the incarcerated person pays for calls using their own funds. NDOC allows them to purchase debit calling time through the Offender Services Commissary using money from their NDOC Trust account. If you want to help keep their account funded, NDOC accepts deposits via Lockbox Deposit Coupons (cashier's check or money order) and Access Corrections deposits by credit/debit card (MasterCard or Visa) or phone. For Lockbox deposits, you'll need to print the coupon from the site or get it from the incarcerated person.

Note: Family and friends typically handle deposits through NDOC-approved methods. The incarcerated person decides how to spend their trust funds - including buying debit calling time at commissary.
