Before Your First Video Visit at Abingdon: ID, Approved Visitor List, and Who Can Attend

You'll need valid photo ID to participate in video visitation. The facility accepts driver's licenses (current or expired), military or government IDs, passports, school picture IDs, immigration cards (Mica), or any picture ID issued by a city, county, state, or other government agency.

You must be on the inmate's approved visitor list before you can schedule a video visit. The facility doesn't publish exact steps for getting added, so confirm directly with the inmate and double-check with the facility before you try to schedule.

• ✓ Onsite video visitation only: a maximum of two (2) adults and two (2) children may participate in a single session (when onsite visits are available again).

1. Ask the inmate about your approval - video visits require you to be on the inmate’s approved visitor list.
2. Confirm with the facility before you schedule - staff can verify whether you’re approved and whether onsite video visitation is currently available.
3. Set up or fund your video-visitation account (if needed) - for prepaid account setup/funding through Smart Communications, call 1-888-253-5178 (the vendor can help with the account, but they don’t control the jail’s approved-visitor list).

Plan ahead: video visitation sessions must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, and you can book up to two weeks out.
