How Phone Calls Work at St. Brides: Who Can Be Called, Time Limits, and What Can Suspend Calls
Phone calls are often the quickest way to stay connected, but St. Brides has specific rules around approved numbers, monitored lines, and time limits. Here's what you need to know to avoid surprises and protect your loved one's phone privileges.
At St. Brides, inmates can only call numbers on their approved call list - and they're responsible for keeping it current. The list is capped at 15 phone numbers. Want to make sure you're reachable? Confirm with your loved one that your current number is on their list.
St. Brides uses ConnectNetwork by Global Tel*Link (GTL) for phone service. This matters because your account setup and calling options all run through GTL's system.
Assume regular calls are not private. Calls are recorded and monitored, with an exception for properly verified attorney calls. If your loved one needs to speak with their lawyer, that verified attorney call is handled differently than personal calls.
Each call at St. Brides is limited to 20 minutes. The cap helps ensure everyone gets a turn on the phones.
Prohibited Behaviors Suspend
- ✓ Placing incoming calls to an inmate
- ✓ Calling international numbers
- ✓ Charging calls to credit cards, third parties, or any billing method other than collect or pre-paid to the called party
Warning: These actions can cost you, your loved one, or both phone privileges. Not sure if something's allowed - like certain billing or call routing setups? Play it safe and stick to standard, approved calling options.
