Setting Up Video Visits for Stafford Creek: Securus Account, Scheduling, and Rules

Before scheduling a video visit, confirm you're actually eligible. You must be on the incarcerated individual's Approved Visitor List - that means you've completed the visitor application process and been approved to visit that specific person. Having a Securus account isn't enough on its own.

Keep the incarcerated individual's DOC number handy. You'll need it to set up your Securus account and link it to the right person.

Create Account

  • Use your first name exactly as it appears on your legal ID
  • Use your last name exactly as it appears on your legal ID
  • Enter your date of birth exactly as it appears on your legal ID
  • Do not include a middle name or middle initial

Have the DOC number in front of you when creating your account. Securus uses it to identify who you're trying to visit, and you can't start setup without it.

Entered your name or birthdate differently than what's on your ID? Maybe added a middle initial by mistake? Fix it before you try to schedule. Contact Securus customer assistance and ask them to correct your account so it matches your legal identification.

You schedule Stafford Creek video visits through Securus at least 24 hours in advance. Visits are 30-minute blocks, and slots fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. When you find a time that works, book it - someone else will grab it if you wait.

Plan around their schedule: Incarcerated individuals will not be excused from work or programming for a video visit, so the visit time needs to be one that doesn’t conflict with their obligations.

Tech Requirements

  • Your own internet connection
  • A personal computer
  • Speakers
  • Microphone
  • Webcam

Assume your video visit is being watched and recorded. Designated staff monitor calls for compliance with facility rules. If you're unsure whether something's allowed, stick to straightforward conversation.

Don’t add extra people: Letting someone who isn’t an approved visitor participate in the video visit is grounds for suspension of video visiting privileges.

Prohibited conduct can get your video visiting privileges suspended or terminated. Minor violations might earn a warning; serious ones don't. Treat every visit like it could end immediately if rules are broken. Protect your ability to keep visiting by staying compliant.

  1. Contact the facility’s visit staff - If you have visiting questions, reach out to the facility where you plan to visit and ask for visit staff. If you leave a voicemail, include the incarcerated individual’s six-digit DOC number and a brief summary of what you need.
  2. Escalate to the Statewide Visit Unit if needed - If the facility can’t resolve your question or concern, contact the Statewide Visit Unit and include the incarcerated individual’s name and six-digit DOC number in the subject line.
