Stanley CI's Four-Visit Weekly Limit: What Counts as a Weekend Visit

At Stanley Correctional Institution (SCI), a person in care can receive up to four in-person visits per week. That weekly cap is the number to plan around. Once four visits have happened, no more in-person visits are allowed until the week resets.

There's also a separate weekend rule: only one in-person visit is allowed per weekend. So even though the weekly max is four, you can't stack multiple visits on Saturday and Sunday. You get one weekend visit total - the rest need to happen on weekdays.

SCI’s visiting week runs from Monday through the following Sunday. That’s the window used to count the “up to four” visits, so your total resets when a new Monday starts.

Holiday weekends are where people get tripped up. If a holiday connects to a weekend - creating a three-day stretch - that holiday counts as part of the weekend for visitation purposes. You still only get one in-person visit for the entire three days.

The holiday doesn't give you an extra weekend visit. You can still have up to four in-person visits during the Monday–Sunday visiting week, but only one can fall during the three-day holiday weekend. Want to use multiple visits that week? Schedule the rest on non-weekend days.

Practical Tips

• ✓ Plan your week Monday through Sunday, since that’s when SCI resets the weekly visit count.
• ✓ If you’re trying to use all four in-person visits, spread them across weekdays and treat the weekend as a single “slot.”
• ✓ On a three-day holiday weekend, assume the holiday day uses the same one-weekend-visit allowance as Saturday/Sunday - so schedule other visits outside that three-day window.
