How Inmate Phone Calls and In-Cell Texting Work at Stewart County Detention Center
Phone contact at Stewart County Detention Center works one direction only - inmates call out, but the jail won't connect incoming calls to inmates. If you need to reach someone inside, you'll have to wait for them to call you or use one of the facility's other contact options.
The jail’s phone policy is primarily collect calling. That means your phone number may need to be able to accept collect calls for you to receive them. The exception is when an inmate has money on their phone account - then they may be able to place calls using those funds instead of collect billing.
Stewart County Detention Center lists CPC as the communications company that handles inmate telephone services. If you’re trying to get set up to receive calls - or troubleshoot billing, blocked calls, or account questions - CPC is the place to start for account creation and support.
The jail also lists “Chirpers” as an in-cell texting option. These are texting devices inmates have in their cells that let them message family and friends, giving you another way to stay in touch beyond traditional phone calls.
