- ✓ A copy of your identification card with your visitor application
- ✓ A self-addressed stamped envelope (so the jail can mail you the decision)
- ✓ A current, valid state-issued photo ID, driver’s license, or passport (you’ll need valid photo ID at check-in when you come to visit)
Warning: Do not make copies of the visitor application. If you’re caught making copies, you will automatically be denied visits.
Processing takes up to 10 days after your application arrives. You'll receive your visiting status by U.S. Mail - that's why the self-addressed stamped envelope matters. Resist the urge to call and check on your application. The form explicitly says "No telephone calls please," and your answer will come through the mail.
Do not copy the form: Making copies of the visitor application can lead to an automatic denial of visits if you’re caught.
- Read your denial decision carefully - the form states you have a right to appeal if you’re denied.
- Write your appeal to the Superintendent - the appeal must be in writing.
- Submit it within 30 days - your written appeal must be submitted within 30 days of the decision.
Once approved, you can visit seven days a week during four daily periods: 8:00–10:30 AM, 1:00–2:45 PM, 3:30–5:00 PM, and 7:00–8:45 PM. Each inmate gets up to three visits per week, with the visiting week running Monday through Sunday. Plan to arrive 30 minutes to an hour before your visiting period starts - you'll need time to check in. Bringing kids? Pay close attention to the rules: children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent who brings the child's original birth certificate (no photocopies). Only two children are allowed per visit, and children cannot visit on Saturdays.
