How to Send Mail to Someone at Taylor County Jail (digital scanning, PO Box, and size limits)

Taylor County Jail uses a digital mail system for personal correspondence. Your letter won't be handed over as paper - it's scanned after arrival and delivered to the inmate through a kiosk. Legal mail is the exception. It's the only mail that actually enters the facility, and staff search it thoroughly before delivering it to the recipient.

Address your envelope exactly like this, using the inmate's legal name and ID number: Taylor County Jail Inmate Legal Name & Inmate ID Number PO BOX 1759 Waycross, Ga 31502

  • Write a full return name and return address on the outside of the envelope (mail without it will not be processed)
  • Put proper postage on the envelope (a stamp is required)

Keep everything letter-sized. Mail must not be larger than 8.5 x 11 inches.

Photos and drawings are welcome. They'll be scanned and delivered through the kiosk just like letters - just keep them under the 8.5 x 11 size limit.

Heads up: Packages and magazines will not be accepted at the Post Office Box.

Once your personal mail arrives at the PO Box, staff scan it and deliver it to the inmate via kiosk. The original paper letter isn't handed over.

Legal mail works differently. It's the only type that enters the facility itself. Staff search it thoroughly before delivering it to the inmate.
