How to Order Approved Food or Property Packages for Someone in GDC Custody (Union Supply)
If your loved one is in Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) custody, you can order certain approved packages through Union Supply. The process depends on which type of facility they're housed in, and timing matters: orders must arrive before the deadline.
GDC allows Union Supply orders for approved food packages for people housed in State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers. Only approved family and friends can place orders, so confirm you're on the approved contact list before ordering.
To order by mail, send your order to Union Supply at: 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Write the address clearly. Even a small mistake can delay delivery, and deadlines are strict.
You can order by phone at 1-562-361-5719 or the toll-free line at 1-855-247-0563. If one line is busy, try the other.
Fax orders are also accepted at 1-310-603-1188.
Package limits vary by facility type. State Prisons and ITFs allow up to $100 or 15 lbs. per package, whichever comes first. Probation Detention Centers have a lower cap: $50 or 7 lbs. per package.
Multiple orders for the same person get combined into one package. That combined package still can't exceed the spending or weight limits for the facility type. Placing separate orders won't increase the total allowed amount.
Budget for shipping when you place your order. Union Supply charges a $2.95 shipping and handling fee on all orders, and that fee is non-refundable.
Deadline warning: Any orders received after the program deadline will not be accepted.
For juveniles, approved visitors can order property items like shoes, clothing, and cosmetics through a separate program. This is different from food packages. Only items approved for the juvenile to receive can be ordered.
- ✓ Only one juvenile property package may be ordered per month.
