Setting up GettingOut (video visits and messaging) for NDOC offenders — a step-by-step guide
Want to message an NDOC offender, send photos or video clips, or schedule video visits? You'll do it all through GettingOut.com. Setup is straightforward: create your account first, then add the offender as a contact.
GettingOut.com handles all communication with NDOC offenders - text messaging, photos, videos, and video visits. You'll need two things in place before any of that works: your own GettingOut account and the offender added as a contact. Skip either step and you won't be able to message or schedule visits.
- Go to GettingOut.com - Open your browser and head to GettingOut.com.
- Open the login area - Click the login link in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Start a new account - Click the “Create one here” button to begin creating your GettingOut account.
- Finish setup and activate - Follow the activation steps shown during signup so your account is fully set up and ready to use.
After your GettingOut account is created and activated, add the offender as a contact. NDOC requires both pieces - the account and the contact connection - before you can message, send photos or videos, or use video visits. If something isn't working, double-check that you completed the activation steps and that you've added the right person.
Attorneys follow a separate process for private (non-recorded) video visits or phone calls. Start by creating your GettingOut.com account like everyone else. Then email ViapathNVTechs@viapath.com to request an exception for non-recorded communication. Include your name, address, the phone number(s) you want private calls on, and your BAR number for validation.
