How to Add Someone to Your Scheduled Visit or Cancel a Visit at Tift County Law Detention
Already have a visit scheduled at Tift County Law Detention? You can make changes online—add another person or cancel entirely. Here's how to do both through the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) visitation tools.
Visits at Tift County Law Detention are scheduled through the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) online visitation request form. That same system is where you'll manage any visit you've already booked.
Once your appointment is on the calendar, you can make two changes online: add another visitor to that scheduled visit, or cancel it altogether. Both options are available through the GDC visitation page - find your scheduled visit first, then choose what you need. Check the cutoff times before making changes. If you wait too long in the week or get too close to a holiday, the system may not accept your request.
- ✓ Weekend visits: request cutoff is 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.
- ✓ State holiday visits: request cutoff is 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.
Need to bring someone else along? You don't have to start over. Use the GDC visitation tools to find your existing appointment, then add the extra person to that visit.
- Go to the GDC visitation page and open “Add Visitor” - this is the tool used to find your previously scheduled visitation and add additional visitors.
- Find your scheduled visitation - enter the details the form asks for so the system can pull up your existing appointment.
- Select “Add Visitor” for that appointment - choose the option to add another person to the scheduled visit.
- Enter the additional visitor’s information - fill in the visitor details requested on the form.
- Confirm the added person is eligible to visit - immediate family (such as parents, siblings, spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, and children) may be approved without a significant-relationship application, but non-immediate family (like in-laws, cousins, friends, pastors, and employers) must have the incarcerated person initiate a Significant Relationship Visitor Application that is reviewed by the warden/superintendent.
Note: If the person you’re adding isn’t immediate family, the incarcerated person must initiate a Significant Relationship Visitor Application for visitation privileges, and it will be reviewed by the warden/superintendent.
Can't make your scheduled visit? Cancel it online through GDC. Use the
- Open the GDC “Cancel my visit” tool - this is the option used to find and cancel a previously scheduled visitation appointment.
- Locate your scheduled visitation - enter the requested details so your appointment appears.
- Cancel the visit - follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation.
- Do it before the cutoff when timing matters - weekend visit requests cut off at 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week, and state holiday visit requests cut off at 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.
If the online tools won't load, can't find your visit, or won't save your changes, don't keep resubmitting. Reach out for help through the GDC visitation support channels, or contact the facility directly for guidance.
