Steps to Follow

  • Do not plan to take pictures of an incarcerated person during an in-person visit (these pictures are not accepted).
  1. Call to schedule: Press pass applications are by appointment only, so call 805-654-5185 to set an appointment time.
  2. Confirm what to bring: When you call, ask what you need to bring or complete ahead of time so your appointment is not delayed.
  3. Attend your appointment: Show up for the scheduled time and follow staff instructions for submitting the application.

Pictures of incarcerated persons taken during visitation are not accepted. If you think your situation might be an exception (a special arrangement, for example), check with staff before your visit so there are no surprises.

Before heading in for a press pass appointment, call 805-654-5185 to confirm the details. Ask about current appointment availability, any documents you need to bring, and where to check in when you arrive.
