What You Can't Bring to Tom Green County Jail Visits (And What Happens If You Try)

Vehicles

  • Strollers
  • Carriers
  • Diaper bags
  • Purses

Visiting with a small child? Keep it simple. Tom Green County Jail allows only a diaper and a bottle inside the visitation area. Everything else - including diaper bags - stays in your vehicle.

Prohibited

  • Cell phones
  • Food
  • Drinks
  • Cameras

These rules are enforced. All visitors are subject to physical searches at any time. Don't try to hide a prohibited item or slip something in at the last second - leave it in your vehicle before you walk in.

Bring prohibited items or break the rules, and your visit can be stopped before it starts - or ended mid-visit. Tom Green County Detention Facility reserves the right to deny, cancel, or terminate a visit based on visitor or inmate conduct.

Note: Never open the visitation door for anyone outside. Once you leave the visitation area, your visit is over. Emergencies can also end visits immediately.
