How to Send Money to Someone at Travis County Jail: In-Person, Mail, and Western Union
Want to add money to someone's Inmate Trust Fund at the Travis County Correctional Complex? The process is simple once you have the right information. Here's exactly what you need for in-person, mail, and Western Union deposits.
No matter which deposit option you use, you’ll need the same basic information so the money goes to the right person. Include the inmate’s full name, date of birth, and their Jail ID number or Booking Number with every deposit.
For in-person deposits, go to the Travis County Correctional Complex Finance Building #230 at 3614 Bill Price Rd., Del Valle, TX. This is where trust fund deposits are handled.
Finance Building #230 accepts deposits Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The office closes on Travis County holidays, so plan accordingly if you need funds posted quickly.
- ✓ Bring a money order or cashier’s check (credit/debit cards and personal checks are not accepted for in-person deposits).
- ✓ Make it payable to “Inmate Trust Fund” (no fees apply).
- ✓ Keep the amount at $100 or less per money order, since money orders over $100 are not accepted for deposit to an inmate trust account.
Mail deposits to: Inmate Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1368, Del Valle, TX 78617. Make your money order or cashier's check payable to "Inmate Trust Fund" and include the inmate's full name, Jail ID/Booking Number, and date of birth. Don't forget to add your own name and return address as the sender. One important limit: Travis County won't accept money orders over $100 for inmate trust deposits, so keep it at $100 or less.
With Western Union, the account format matters. Enter the 7-digit Booking Number immediately followed by the inmate's last name - no hyphens or spaces, up to 23 characters total. For the "code city," use: TCSOITF TX.
Western Union deposits post the following business day, not same-day. You can pay with a credit or debit card, though standard Western Union fees apply.
Note: Inmates can't receive commissary through SecurePAK if they have a debt balance on their Inmate Trust Fund account. Only the inmate can share their balance details - this information is confidential.
