Sending Mail to Someone at Travis County Jail: Addresses, Required Info, and Book Rules

Writing to someone at the Travis County Correctional Complex (TCCC) in Del Valle? Send mail to: 3614 Bill Price Rd., Del Valle, TX 78617.

If they're at the downtown Travis County Jail instead, the address is 500 W. 10th St., Austin, TX 78701.

Note: Letters, cards, and other correspondence must be sent directly to the person at the facility where they’re housed.

Include the person's full name, date of birth, and their jail ID or booking number on everything you send. Staff use these details to match mail to the right person - especially when multiple people share similar names.

Always include your return address. Mail without a sender's return address won't be accepted.

Sending a money order or cashier's check to the Inmate Trust Fund? Include the inmate's full name, booking number, and date of birth, plus your name and return address. Missing any of this can delay processing.

Travis County only accepts paperback books, magazines, and newspapers shipped directly from the publisher or distributor. Don't send reading materials from home or have a friend mail them - order through a retailer or publisher so they ship from the source.

  • The inmate can have no more than two books and two magazines at a time.
  • If you send items that put them over the limit, the extra books or magazines will be returned to the publisher.
