Bringing Kids to Visit: Visitor Limits and ID Rules at Travis County

Travis County Correctional Complex (TCCC) allows two visits per week. Those can be face-to-face or onsite video visits (kiosk) - your choice. Plan ahead and pick whichever option works best for your family that week.

For face-to-face visits, only two visitors can be in the visitation area at a time. Keep this in mind when deciding which adults and kids will go in together.

Child exception: If you’re bringing children under age 12, the limit in the face-to-face visitation area increases to three visitors.

Visitation hours run Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm - both for face-to-face and onsite video visits. County holidays are excluded, though. If you're planning a visit around a holiday weekend, confirm before loading everyone into the car.

Bringing a minor? Supervision rules come first. Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You can't send a teenager in with another teen. Pick an adult who can stay focused through check-in, follow instructions, and keep kids close.

  • If you are 17 or older, bring a government-issued photo ID.

  1. Arrive at least 30 minutes early - give yourself enough time to check in without rushing, especially if you’re managing kids.
  2. Treat the 15-minute cutoff as a hard deadline - visitation check-in ends 15 minutes before the visit, and late check-ins are not accepted.

No outside snacks or drinks: Travis County doesn't allow outside food or beverages into visitation. Eat and hydrate before you arrive.
