Setting Up Remote Video Visits from Home with NWRCC: Devices, Apps & Account Setup
Remote video visits with NWRCC go through Securus. The make-or-break steps: using a compatible device, getting your Securus Visitation account approved, and scheduling far enough ahead. Follow the steps below to get set up once. After that, booking future visits is much easier.
You can use an Apple or Android phone or tablet with the free Securus Visitation app. A computer works too, as long as it has high-speed internet and a webcam. Slow or unstable connections will cause freezing and dropped calls, so use the strongest internet you have.
Tip: Update the Securus Visitation app (or your computer’s browser) before your visit. It helps avoid last-minute camera, audio, or sign-in issues.
- Choose your device. You can use an Apple or Android phone/tablet, or a computer with high-speed internet and a webcam.
- Install the Securus Visitation app (mobile). Download the free Securus Visitation app from your device’s app store so you can sign in and schedule visits.
- Use the Video Visit Anywhere web portal (computer). If you prefer a computer, you can register and manage visits through the web portal instead of the mobile app.
- Create your free Securus Visitation account. You can register in the Securus Visitation app or through the Video Visit Anywhere web portal.
- Request access to visit NWRCC. Look for Northwest Regional Corrections Center (NWRCC) in the platform and submit your request.
- Wait for jail staff review. Your request has to be reviewed and approved before you can schedule remote (at-home) visits.
- ✓ Upload a clear photo of yourself
- ✓ Upload a government-issued photo ID
- ✓ Submit your request to visit Northwest Regional Corrections Center (NWRCC)
- ✓ Wait for facility review and approval before you try to schedule an at-home visit
Note: All visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. You also need to be approved as a visitor before you can schedule.
Remote video visits cost $12.95 for 20 minutes. NWRCC also lists an introductory promotional price of $5.95 for a 20-minute at-home visit.
At-home visits can be scheduled every day of the week from 7:00 am to 9:20 pm. Keep in mind that times may shift due to lockdowns, so the schedule can change on short notice.
Heads up: Remote visit charges are paid by the visitor before the visit and they are non-refundable. Scheduled visiting times are exact and cannot be adjusted.
If your at-home visit fails or you can't schedule one, check two things first: that your visitor request for NWRCC was approved, and that your visit was actually scheduled. For account or activation problems on the Securus side, call Securus Technologies customer support at (800) 844-6591.
