How to schedule an in-person visit at Trinity River Conservation Camp (email or phone — no VSA)
Trinity River Conservation Camp handles visit scheduling differently than most CDCR facilities. The camp can't use the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) because fire/conservation camps lack the reliable internet connection the system requires. The bottom line: to schedule an in-person visit at Trinity River, you'll need to contact the camp directly by email or phone. There's no online VSA option here.
Scheduling is tied to the weekend. Call or email the camp Monday through Friday to set up a visit for that same weekend. During "Open Phase," in-person visits run between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sessions can be any length within that window.
Plan your group size ahead of time. In Open Phase, in-person visits are limited to no more than five approved visitors per incarcerated person - so if more than five people want to come, you’ll need to rotate who visits.
- Get the camp’s direct contact information - You’ll schedule through Trinity River Conservation Camp by email or by phone (not through VSA).
- Request your weekend visit Monday–Friday - Call or email during the week to ask for an in-person visiting reservation for that coming weekend.
- Confirm the visit details before you travel - Fire crew members can be activated on short notice, so check in with the camp for updates right before you leave to make sure your visit is still on.
Video visits work differently. If you want to schedule a video visit instead of going in person, you'll need to submit your request by email - even if you normally handle in-person scheduling by phone.
