Set up your Securus account before your loved one gets their new tablet

CDCR has switched its fire camps over to Securus for telecommunications. If you have a loved one at Trinity River Conservation Camp, Securus is the system you'll use for tablet-based video features once the facility is on the platform.

Set up your Securus account now to avoid delays later. If your loved one at Trinity River will use a tablet for video calls or video messaging, you'll need your own Securus account to connect with them.

  1. Create your Securus account - open an account through Securus on the web or in the Securus mobile app so you’re ready when video calling and electronic messaging are available.
  2. Don’t worry if you only use phone calls today - you may not need an online account just to receive free phone calls, but you will need one for video calls and video messaging.
  3. Plan how you’ll join video sessions - Securus Video Connect can be used through the free Securus app, or from a computer or tablet with internet access.

Step2 Advanceconnect

  • Open the Securus app and tap AdvanceConnect.
  • Set up AdvanceConnect on your account so you can prepay for video sessions.
  • Add funds to your AdvanceConnect balance for prepaid video calls.
Set up your Securus account before your loved one gets their new tablet
  1. Open the Securus app and choose Video Connect - this is where you register your account for video.
  2. Register and select “Allow video calls” - this setting is what allows your incarcerated loved one at Trinity River to place video calls to you.

Once Video Connect is set up, you can join sessions from anywhere with internet access - through the free Securus app, a computer, or a tablet.

Note: For the latest tablet rollout timing and cost details for Trinity River families, check Securus's CDCR resources and the CDCR tablet rollout information they reference.
