How to Send Money to Someone at Tryell Work Farm: Options, timelines, and troubleshooting

NCDAC partners with ViaPath and its subsidiaries to process deposits for people housed in state prison facilities, including Tryell Work Farm. Whether you add money online, by phone, or through another approved method, it all flows through the same statewide system.

Fees vary depending on how you pay. NCDAC publishes a Money Transfer Fees schedule (effective August 1, 2023) that breaks down costs by deposit method and amount.

Only approved visitors can deposit money into an offender's account. If you're not sure whether you're on the approved list, confirm that first. Deposits from unapproved senders will fail.

Online and mobile deposits in North Carolina go through ConnectNetwork. You can pay with a credit or debit card. If you already have a ConnectNetwork account, use the same email and password to sign in and send money.

Watch your account activity: ConnectNetwork (GTL Friends & Family) accounts can become inactive and forfeit balances after 180 consecutive days of inactivity. If you provide contact info to ViaPath and opt in to reminders, you'll get a text or email alert at least 30 days before the scheduled expiration.

  • Use your ConnectNetwork / GTL Friends & Family account at least once within each 180-day period so it does not go inactive and become subject to forfeiture.
  • If your account has gone inactive and you need a refund, call customer service at 866-516-0115.

Prefer to pay by phone? You can send money with a credit or debit card through AdvancePay at 800-483-8314. For Trust deposits or PIN Debit, call 888-428-1845.

Sending a money order for a Trust deposit? Make it payable to TouchPay and include a deposit slip. Mail it to: TouchPay Holdings, LLC, PO Box 174, Houston, TX 77001-0174.

Mailed money orders take longer than card payments. Expect funds to be available within ten business days, though TouchPay may post them sooner.

Fees and posting times vary by method. Check NCDAC's Money Transfer Fees schedule (effective August 1, 2023) for specifics. For mailed money orders, plan on up to ten business days, though TouchPay may post funds sooner.

If your deposit fails, gets delayed, or you're unsure what happened, call ViaPath's toll-free help line at 877-650-4249.

  1. Gather your transaction details - write down the date, amount, payment method (online, app, or phone), and the offender’s identifying information you used.
  2. Call ViaPath deposit assistance - contact 877-650-4249 and explain what you tried and what result you got.
  3. Handle inactive-account refunds separately (if needed) - for ConnectNetwork / GTL Friends & Family inactive-account refund requests, call customer service at 866-516-0115.

Tip: Have key details ready when you call: sender name, last four digits of the card used (if applicable), any transaction reference, and the offender's name and ID. Call 877-650-4249 for deposit troubleshooting or 866-516-0115 for ConnectNetwork inactive-account refund requests.
