How to Apply for Visitation Approval at Tulsa County Jail
Visiting someone at Tulsa County Jail (David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center) starts with getting approved. That means completing the Visitor's Request Form correctly so your background check can be processed without delays.
The Visitor's Request Form is the starting point. When you sign it, you're authorizing the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office to run a criminal background check using the information you provide. Nothing moves forward until that form is submitted and signed.
Required Info
- ✓ Fill in every space on the Visitor’s Request Form. If something truly does not apply to you, write the reason it is not applicable instead of leaving it blank.
- ✓ If you are 18 or older, bring photo identification when you visit. Acceptable IDs include a state driver’s license, state ID, federal ID, military ID, or school ID.
- ✓ Know who can be approved: only immediate family members (parents, spouses, and children).
- ✓ If a child is visiting, they may be accompanied by a legal or court-appointed guardian.
- ✓ Be ready to show documented proof of your relationship at the time of the visit.
Tip: Don't leave blanks or guess at details. Omissions and inaccurate information can stop your approval. Your phone number and/or email address is how they'll send your approval or denial notification.
Once Tulsa County Jail receives your form, they'll approve or deny the request within 10 days. Accuracy matters here. If the form has omissions or inaccurate declarations, your request will be disapproved, and you won't be eligible to reapply for 120 days.
Once you get your approval notification, you can schedule a visit. Hold on to your approval notice and your ID. You'll likely need both during the scheduling and check-in process.
