Before your first visit to Twin Falls Reentry Center: what to bring and what to leave behind
Before heading to Twin Falls Community Reentry Center (TFCRC), read through the Visiting Rules for Residents and Visitors and complete the visiting application process. You'll find both the rules and the application form on the Visiting Application page. Getting this done first saves you a wasted trip.
Questions about what types of ID are accepted? Call TFCRC before you go: 208-644-7900. A quick phone call helps you show up with the right documents and avoid being turned away at check-in.
Plan your cash situation ahead of time. Paper money isn't allowed in TFCRC visiting rooms. If vending machines are available, bring coins sealed in a clear plastic bag, or bring a debit/credit card (when applicable). Otherwise, you'll be stuck without a way to make purchases.
Tip: Keep a small clear bag of coins in your car and bring a debit/credit card too - you'll be covered either way. If you're counting on vending, call TFCRC first to ask what's available.
Leave snacks at home (or in the car). Outside food isn't allowed in the visiting area - including gum and candy. Check the Visiting Rules for any exceptions before assuming something is allowed.
Photos and paperwork are also a no-go in the visiting area. That includes printed pictures and pictures stored on small electronic viewers (even keychain-sized ones). Documents of any kind are prohibited too, so don’t bring paperwork you were hoping to show or hand over during the visit.

Expect security screening. Staff can search any item you bring in - and can search visitors entering the visiting area - to enforce Idaho Code 18-2510. That law covers contraband in a correctional facility, including tobacco, cell phones or other telecommunication equipment, controlled/illegal substances, firearms or dangerous weapons, ammunition/explosives, and escape tools or devices. The simplest approach: keep your pockets and bags clean and bring only what you truly need.
Warning: Bringing in - or even possessing - contraband at TFCRC is a crime under Idaho Code 18-2510. Don’t take chances with anything that could be considered contraband.
- Assume you’ll be searched - staff may search any item and any visitor entering the visiting area to enforce Idaho Code 18-2510.
- Do a quick car-and-pocket check before you walk in - keep prohibited items (like tobacco, phones/telecom equipment, controlled substances, weapons, ammunition/explosives, or escape tools/devices) out of the visiting area.
- Cooperate with staff directions - if something is flagged, follow instructions and don’t argue or try to bring it in anyway.
- If you’re worried you made a mistake, get help right away - introducing or possessing contraband is a criminal issue under Idaho law, so take it seriously and contact legal counsel if needed.
Trying to arrange something outside the normal routine? Special visits require advance approval from the CRC manager or a designee. Start by reviewing the Visiting Rules for Residents and Visitors and completing the visiting application - those steps are still the foundation for getting cleared.
