You can't just show up at Tyger River Correctional Facility and expect to get in. All in-person visits must be scheduled through the GTL scheduler at least 15 hours in advance.

Before scheduling anything, make sure you're eligible. You need to register on the SCDC/GTL scheduling website and already be on the inmate's approved visitation list. If you're not approved, the system won't let you book.

Keep the 15-hour rule in mind. Trying to schedule the night before or morning of won't work - Tyger River requires every visit to be booked at least 15 hours ahead through the GTL scheduler.

Since Tyger River is a Medium Security institution, in-person visits happen on weekends only. You'll choose from three time blocks on Saturdays and Sundays: 8:00–10:00 am, 11:00 am–1:00 pm, or 2:00–4:00 pm.

Note: Each in-person visit is limited to two hours, which lines up with the two-hour weekend scheduling blocks.

Something come up? Cancel early. Tyger River requires at least 48 hours notice - otherwise, the visit still counts toward the inmate's monthly total.

This matters because monthly visits are capped. A late cancellation or no-show eats up one of the inmate's allowed visits for the month, even though you never actually saw them.
