How to Set Up and Schedule a Virtual Visit with Someone at Tyger River

Virtual visits cost a flat $10 for a 50-minute session.

You'll book virtual visits through the SCDC/GTL scheduler. Visits must be scheduled at least three days ahead but no more than seven days out - you can't book same-day. One important thing: you have to be on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list before you can book anything. The system only lets approved visitors schedule, so make sure the name you register with matches exactly what's on the approved list.

Need to change your plans? Use the same SCDC/GTL scheduler where you booked the visit. You can modify a scheduled visit up to two days in advance, or cancel up to one day before.

Every visitor needs their own account on the GTL scheduling website. Registration is what gives you access to the SCDC/GTL scheduler. But having an account isn't enough - you also have to be on the incarcerated person's approved visitation list. Double-check that you're approved before trying to book a time.

Up to four approved visitors can join a virtual visit, including minor children. Kids can participate, but only with an approved adult present. Plan your group ahead of time - especially if children are joining - since everyone needs to be approved and counts toward the four-person limit.

• ✓ If an approved child is under age 10, they must have a certified long-form birth certificate as identification.
• ✓ SCDC Form 19-118 (Authorization for Adult Supervision of a Minor) is not required for virtual visits (it’s for entry into an institution).
