Visitation

Understanding the Three Visiting Rooms at USP Lewisburg (USP, SMU, Camp/RDAP)

USP Lewisburg doesn't have one visiting room for everyone. Where your visit takes place depends on your loved one's housing assignment—USP, SMU, or Camp/RDAP—and that determines whether you'll meet in person or by video.

Understanding the Three Visiting Rooms at USP Lewisburg (USP, SMU, Camp/RDAP)

Visits at USP Lewisburg happen in three different locations based on housing assignment. USP inmates visit in the USP Visiting Room. Those in the Special Management Unit (SMU) in Phases 1 or 2 get video visits only - no in-person option. Camp and RDAP participants use the Camp Visiting Room. Confirm your loved one's assignment before you make the trip.

Inmates assigned to the USP (the penitentiary) have in-person visits in the USP Visiting Room. This is separate from both the SMU video setup and the Camp/RDAP visiting room.

USP visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No visits Monday through Friday - unless a Federal holiday falls on a weekday.

If your loved one is in SMU Phase 1 or Phase 2, expect video visitation - not in-person. Plan accordingly, since preparation and logistics differ from a face-to-face visit.

Camp and RDAP participants visit in the Camp Visiting Room - a separate location from the USP Visiting Room. Double-check you're planning around the right setup.

Note: Camp/RDAP holiday visits are scheduled at the Camp Administrator's discretion. Don't assume a Federal holiday automatically means visiting is available.

Heads up: For Camp/RDAP day visits, anyone arriving after 2:30 p.m. won't be admitted.
