Why You Can't Visit on Weekdays at USP Lewisburg (And What Days You Can)

Regular visiting at USP Lewisburg's Penitentiary happens on weekends only - Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No visits Monday through Friday. The only exception? When a federal holiday falls on a weekday. Those are the only weekdays you can visit.

Even on visiting days, timing matters. If you arrive after 2:30 p.m. for a day visit, you will not be admitted - so plan to get there well before that cutoff to give yourself a cushion for check-in and any delays.

Weekends and federal holidays come with another timing factor: the 10:00 a.m. count. On those days (except at the Camp), visitors are processed into the Visiting Room during the count. Once it starts, movement stops. You won't be escorted out of either Visiting Room until the Control Center officially clears the count - so when you leave depends on when that happens, not when you're ready to go.

If your loved one is in the Camp/RDAP, the schedule works differently. Visiting days rotate based on the inmate's register number (odd/even, 5th digit), and the rotation is posted quarterly. Check which days apply to your loved one's number before making plans. This is especially important around holidays, when the Camp may not follow the same pattern as the Penitentiary.
