Face-to-Face Visitation Schedule at VCFW: When You Can Visit

• ✓ These are the standardized two-hour face-to-face visiting blocks shown in the GTL scheduling system, and you’ll use that system to book your visit.

Face-to-face visits must be scheduled in advance through the GTL visitation system. When you log in to schedule, you’ll select from the available face-to-face time blocks listed there.

VCFW follows the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) approach to in-person visitation: face-to-face visits are typically offered on Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays. The days are fairly consistent, but how visits are run can still vary from one institution to another.

Local procedures and schedules can change at any time - even when the visiting days stay the same. Before you commit to travel, verify the current details for VCFW so you're not caught off guard by a shift in how visits are being processed.

Arrive one hour before your scheduled visit time. That buffer gives you enough time to get through security screening without cutting into your visit - or risking being turned away for showing up too close to the start.

Check for facility-level updates before you travel. VADOC can cancel all visitation - both in-person and video - for specific housing units or buildings. A particular pod or multiple buildings may be closed to visits until further notice.
