Sending Food Packages to Valdosta State Prison: How to Order, Fees, and Limits

The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) uses Union Supply as the approved vendor for food packages at Valdosta State Prison. If you're an approved family member or friend, you can place an order through Union Supply by mail, phone, or fax.

GDC caps how much you can send. For State Prisons and Integrated Treatment Facilities, the limit is $100 per person or 15 lbs. per package - whichever you hit first. Probation Detention Centers have tighter limits: $50 per person or 7 lbs. per package.

Here's something that catches people off guard: consolidation. If multiple people place Union Supply orders for the same person, those orders get combined into one package. That combined package still has to stay under the GDC limits. Go over, and the order runs into problems. Coordinate with anyone else who might be ordering at the same time.

Remember: that $2.95 shipping fee is non-refundable. Even if something changes after you order, don't expect to get it back.
