To post bond or attend a First Appearance hearing, you need to go to the Volusia County Branch Jail (VCBJ). The Branch Jail is located at 1300 Red John Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32120, and the phone number is (386) 254-1555.

The Branch Jail Booking Office handles bond and stays open 24/7. You can post bond any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Cash bond: Anyone may post bond in cash at the Branch Jail.
  • Bondsman (bond agent): Anyone may post bond through a bondsman for an inmate at the Branch Jail.

Starting April 29, 2024, inmates will not be released from Volusia County correctional facilities between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. If your loved one's paperwork clears during that window, release will be held until after 6:00 a.m. unless the exception below applies.

Exception: The only way around the 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. restriction is if a responsible party is physically on site to transport the inmate off VCDC property. That person must check in with Control before the inmate can be released.

  1. Plan for a daytime release when you can. Since releases do not happen between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (effective April 29, 2024), aiming for earlier timing can prevent long waits.
  2. If release may fall overnight, arrange a responsible party to be on site. The exception requires someone to be physically present to transport the person off VCDC property.
  3. Have that person check in with Control. Under the overnight exception, checking in with Control is required before release.
  4. Confirm where to go for bond and First Appearance needs. For bond posting and First Appearance hearings, you must go to the Branch Jail.

Tip: Need to time a pickup or confirm bond details? Call the Volusia County Branch Jail at (386) 254-1555.
