Posting Bond at Volusia County: Where to Go and What Time to Arrive
Trying to post bond in Volusia County? The biggest mistake people make is going to the wrong building. Here's where to go, how payment works, and what the night-time release rule means for pickup.
To post bond or attend a First Appearance hearing, go to the Volusia County Branch Jail (VCBJ) - not the Volusia County Correctional Facility. The Branch Jail is at 1300 Red John Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32120. Double-check your GPS before you leave. Showing up at the wrong facility wastes precious time when you're trying to get someone home.
Quick contact: For bond information, call the Branch Jail Booking Office at 386-254-1555.
Anyone can post bond - either by paying cash or by working with a bondsman. For cash bond, come prepared to handle payment in person at the facility. Going through a bondsman? Contact them first, then follow their instructions on what they need from you.
Timing matters. Volusia County has a night-time release restriction: effective April 29, 2024, inmates won't be released between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM unless a responsible party is on site to transport them. That person must check in with Control before the inmate can leave. If you're expecting a late-night release, plan to be there yourself - or expect the release to happen after 6:00 AM.
The Branch Jail Booking Office is open 24/7, so you can call anytime to ask about bond status. Call 386-254-1555 to confirm what you need before driving over. Keep that 10:00 PM–6:00 AM window in mind when planning pickup - if release timing falls overnight, being there as the responsible party (and checking in with Control) is the only way to get someone out during those hours.
