What You Can't Bring to Visitation at Volusia County (And the Dress Code Explained)
Volusia County Correctional Facility runs a strict, no-exceptions visitation setup. Electronic devices aren't allowed in the visitation building at all. The dress code is conservative - show up in revealing or tight clothing, and you'll be turned away. Below, you'll find exactly what to leave behind and what to wear so you don't lose your visit at the door.
Electronics Banned
- ✓ Cell phones
- ✓ Tablets
- ✓ iPods
- ✓ Cameras
- ✓ Any other recording devices
This isn't a "keep it in your pocket" situation. If staff spot an electronic device, your visit can be denied or cut short. Leave everything in your car.
Dress Code Examples
- ✓ Short-shorts
- ✓ Miniskirts
- ✓ Visible cleavage
- ✓ Strapless garments
- ✓ Spandex
- ✓ See-through garments
- ✓ Revealing garments
- ✓ Muscle T-shirts
- ✓ Mesh T-shirts
Note: Improper dress is a stated reason visits can be denied or stopped. If you’re asked to leave for any reason more than twice, your visitation privileges can be permanently denied.
Behaviors Denied
- ✓ Any conduct that is provocative or sexual (zero tolerance)
- ✓ Improper dress
- ✓ Improper conduct
- ✓ Being under the influence of any drug or alcohol

- ✓ Unattended juveniles
- ✓ Electronic devices are observed
Volusia County tracks repeat problems. Get asked to leave more than twice - for any reason - and your visitation privileges are permanently revoked. Even if an issue seems minor, take the rules seriously.
Bringing kids? Plan to supervise them the entire time. Children must stay under control during visitation, or you'll be asked to leave.
Note: Breastfeeding is not permitted while visiting.
Practical Checklist
- ✓ Leave all electronic devices out of the visitation building (phones, tablets, iPods, cameras, and other recording devices)

- ✓ If you’re 18+, bring photo ID that shows your date of birth (driver’s license or state ID); student IDs aren’t accepted
