Volusia County's dress code is strict - and it applies to everyone, adults and kids alike. Skip the short-shorts and miniskirts, even if they'd feel fine for a quick errand elsewhere. Steer clear of anything that shows cleavage, anything strapless, and spandex. See-through or revealing clothing won't pass either, and neither will muscle shirts or mesh T-shirts. If staff consider your outfit inappropriate, you won't be allowed in. Dress more conservatively than you think you need to.

Dress-code quick check: No cleavage, nothing strapless, no spandex, no see-through or otherwise revealing clothing, and no muscle or mesh T-shirts (for visitors of all ages).

Give yourself plenty of time for check-in. On-site visitors check in at the Video Visitation Building next to the Branch Jail at 1300A Red John Drive - arrive at least ten minutes before your appointment. Don't cut it close. Once your visitation period starts, you won't be allowed into the Visitation Center. Expect screening too: under Florida Model Jail Standards, all inmates and visitors entering the facility are subject to search.

Volusia County enforces these rules with real consequences. Get asked to leave more than twice for any reason, and your visitation privileges are permanently revoked. Some behavior triggers an immediate, permanent ban. If you're removed for provocative or sexual conduct, you lose all visitation privileges on the spot - no second chances.
