Who Can Visit and When: Volusia County’s Visitor Limits, No‑Contact Rule, and Restrictions

Volusia County Corrections keeps visit groups small: up to two adults and two small children at a time. Bringing a bigger group? You'll need to split up - only that maximum number gets in for any single visit.

Everyone in your group needs to arrive together. Once the visit starts, stepping out means it's over - no reentry allowed. If you're visiting with kids or coordinating rides, give yourself extra time so no one gets separated at check-in.

You're limited to one visiting session per day. Regular visiting days are Tuesday through Saturday, so pick your session carefully if you were hoping for more than one.

Volusia County Corrections doesn't offer contact visits. All visits are non-contact, so plan on seeing your loved one without any physical contact.

On-site visits happen at the Visitation Center at 1300A Red John Drive, next to the Branch Jail. Check in at the Video Visitation Building at the same address - head there first before your scheduled time.

Just booked in? Expect delays. Visits are restricted during an inmate's first 72 hours, and any visit during that window requires approval from the Operations Supervisor.

Restriction: Inmates in disciplinary confinement lose all visitation privileges.

  • Check in at the Video Visitation Building next to the Branch Jail at 1300A Red John Drive
  • Check in ten minutes before your appointment - late arrivals won’t be permitted to enter once the visitation period has started
  • Make sure your whole group arrives together; if someone shows up separately or you leave, you can’t reenter and the visit is considered over
