How to send money to an inmate at W. F. Ramsey Unit: deposit options and addresses

Sending money to someone at the W. F. Ramsey Unit means using TDCJ's approved Trust Fund options. Not everyone can deposit money. Since September 1, 2020, TDCJ only accepts deposits from people on the inmate's approved visitor list or Inmate Telephone List. If you're not on one of those lists, your deposit may be rejected. Confirm your status with your loved one before sending anything.

Money orders and cashier's checks go to the TDCJ Inmate Trust Fund - not the Ramsey Unit itself. You'll also need to include a completed deposit slip. Mail to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.

The easiest way to get a deposit slip is from the offender directly. If that's not possible, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.

TDCJ offers a free Monthly Checking Account Debit (ACH) option for automatic deposits. The debit pulls from your account around the 5th of each month, and the money hits the offender's account around the 10th. It's a solid choice if you want consistent support without mailing payments every time.

1. Complete the ACH authorization form - Fill it out with the information for the personal checking account you want debited and the offender you want credited.
2. Attach a voided check - Use a voided check from the same checking account listed on the form.
3. Mail the form and voided check to the Trust Fund office - Send both to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 629, Huntsville, TX 77342-0629.
