How to Visit Facility

Ward County Juvenile Detention handles visits by video through Turnkey Corrections. If you visit using the lobby video kiosk, hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The lobby is closed on all holidays. Prefer visiting from home? Off-site video visitation runs 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day. Online visitors must be pre-approved. You can sign up at the Turnkey video kiosk in the juvenile lobby or through Turnkey's online portal. Approval can take up to 48 hours, so plan ahead. All video visits are monitored and recorded. Inappropriate behavior during a visit can get it canceled and may affect future visits.

Ward County Detention Center (adult) also uses video visitation through Turnkey Corrections. Lobby video visitation runs every day in two blocks: 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Off-site video visitation follows the same daily schedule: 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Online visitors must be pre-approved. Sign up at the Turnkey video kiosk in the jail lobby or through the InmateCanteen online system (including the Team3 portal). Approval may take up to 48 hours. Like the juvenile facility, all video visits are monitored and recorded. Inappropriate behavior can end your visit and may impact future visitation.

Note: At the Ward County Detention Center, an inmate can receive one free visit via the lobby kiosk every 72 hours.

How to Visit Facility

Steps to Follow

  • Confirm whether you’re visiting Ward County Juvenile Detention or the Ward County Detention Center (adult), since the hours are different.
  • If it’s Juvenile Detention, plan around lobby hours (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday) or off-site hours (10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily).
  • If it’s the adult detention center, plan around the daily visitation blocks (1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM) for both lobby and off-site visits.
  1. Sign up through the correct system: Juvenile Detention uses Turnkey’s system (lobby kiosk or Turnkey’s online portal). The adult detention center uses the Turnkey lobby kiosk or the InmateCanteen system (including the Team3 portal).
  2. Wait for pre-approval: Online visitors must be pre-approved, and approval may take up to 48 hours. Don’t assume you can schedule a visit the same day.
  • If you’re visiting the Ward County Detention Center (adult), remember the inmate can receive one free lobby kiosk visit every 72 hours.
  • If you need to, you can also use the Turnkey video kiosk in the jail lobby as a way to complete sign-up.

Note: Video visits are monitored and recorded. If behavior is inappropriate, the facility can cancel the current visit and it may affect future visits.

Double-check the current schedule for your facility before you go. Know whether you're doing a lobby kiosk visit or an off-site video visit. Ward County Juvenile Detention's lobby hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and the lobby closes on all holidays. The adult detention center lists daily visitation blocks (1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM) for both lobby and off-site visits. Still, confirm the most up-to-date hours before planning your day.

Sign-up systems differ between Juvenile Detention and the adult detention center, and online portals can change. Juvenile Detention uses Turnkey's online portal or the Turnkey video kiosk in the juvenile lobby. The adult detention center uses the Turnkey video kiosk in the jail lobby or the InmateCanteen system (including the Team3 portal). Either way, online visitors need pre-approval, and approval may take up to 48 hours. Verify the current sign-up steps before you try to schedule.

At Ward County Detention Center (adult), the posted policy allows an inmate to receive one free visit via the lobby kiosk every 72 hours. If you're budgeting for visits or planning several close together, confirm this policy when you schedule. Limits can be updated.

Note: Confirm the current conduct rules before your call. Visits are monitored and recorded, and inappropriate behavior can end a visit and impact future visitation.
