How to Schedule Your First ICSolutions Video Visit at Washington County Correctional (PA)
Scheduling your first video visit is straightforward once you know the two things that trip people up: you need to register with ICSolutions first, and the jail has to approve your account before you can book a time.
To schedule a video visit at Washington County Correctional, you need an ICSolutions visitor account. But here's the catch: after you create the account, you can't immediately pick a visit time. Facility staff must approve your account first. If you can log in but can't schedule anything, approval is usually the missing step.
Create Account
- ✓ Your legal name (use the same name you use on your ID)
- ✓ An email address you can access
- ✓ A working phone number
- ✓ Patience for the approval step, the facility must approve your account before you can schedule a visit
Once your ICSolutions account is approved, you can move to scheduling. Pay close attention to the booking window. Washington County's facility information says visits can be scheduled no later than 24 hours in advance and up to two weeks out. A separate set of instructions for the same program says visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and up to one week in advance. The safest approach: treat the 24-hour requirement as a hard rule, then confirm how far ahead you can actually book before you plan your week around a specific slot. The "how far in advance" limit is the part that varies depending on which posting you read.
Note: Booking windows conflict (one source says up to two weeks, another says up to one week), but both require at least 24 hours in advance. Check the current window in your ICSolutions scheduling view and the facility's posted instructions before you commit to a date.
Washington County Correctional limits video visiting time by week. Inmates can receive two 25-minute video visits per week. If you're trying to schedule visits for multiple family members, coordination matters.
- Decide if you need one longer visit or two shorter visits. The standard setup is two 25-minute sessions per week.
- Ask the inmate to request combining the visits. The two sessions may be combined into one 50-minute visit only at the inmate’s request.
- Plan for staff discretion. Even with a request, combining the visits depends on the discretion of the Officer and Visitor Receptionist, so have a backup plan in case it stays as two separate sessions.
Before your first visit, confirm your device will work for an offsite video visit. The facility's information says offsite video visits currently cannot be done on an iPhone. Meanwhile, ICSolutions Visitor information says video visitation can be conducted using any iOS device through the ICS Mobile app. Those two statements don't match. Don't wait until visit time to find out which is accurate. If you're counting on using an iPhone or other iOS device, test your setup early. Have a backup option ready (like a desktop or another supported device) in case the visit won't connect.
Tip: Do a quick test run well before your scheduled start time and keep an alternate device available. If iPhone access is restricted for offsite visits, switching devices can save the visit.
