Before you try to schedule anything, confirm you're on the inmate's approved visitor list. WCDC requires approval before you can book a video visitation session. If you're not on that list yet, handle that first.

  • Driver’s license (current or expired)
  • Any picture ID issued by a City, County, State, or Government agency
  • If you are scheduling an onsite visit at the Justice Center, bring a valid photo ID with you so you can create your kiosk account and schedule from there

For onsite video visits, WCDC sets basic age and group limits. You must be 18 or older to visit, and anyone under 18 needs an adult with them. There's also a cap on group size: a maximum of two adults and two children can participate in a single onsite video visitation session.

WCDC requires advance scheduling for video visits. Book at least 24 hours ahead, and you can reserve a slot up to 7 days in advance. Trying to visit sooner? You'll need to pick a later time slot.

Each video visit lasts 20 minutes, whether you're visiting remotely or using the onsite equipment.

For onsite video visits, head to the Washington County Justice Center at 108 West Jackson Blvd., Jonesborough, TN 37659. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  1. Go to the Justice Center with a valid photo ID. You will need it to use onsite visitation services.
  2. Create your account at a kiosk. WCDC requires onsite visitors to set up an account on one of the kiosks provided.
  3. Schedule your visit from that kiosk account. Once your account is created, you will be given the option to schedule visit(s).

Good to know: Inmates get three free 20-minute onsite video visitation sessions per week. If cost is a concern, ask your loved one how they'd like to use those sessions.

To schedule a remote video visit, book through InmateSales. Follow the site's directions to pick a date and time.

Remote video visitation runs seven days a week with two daily windows: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Pick a slot within those hours.

Remote visits cost $0.20 per minute. Since each session is 20 minutes, expect to pay $4.00 total.

Warning: If your internet connection drops during the session, you will not be allowed to reconnect, and a refund will not be issued.
