Plans change. Maybe another family member wants to come along. To add someone to a visit you've already scheduled, start by pulling up your existing appointment through the department's

  1. Open “Find your scheduled visitation” - this is the tool used to locate an existing appointment so you can make changes.
  2. Find your appointment - enter the requested information to pull up the scheduled visit you already have on the calendar.
  3. Select the scheduled visit you want to update - make sure you’re working on the right date/time.
  4. Add the additional visitor(s) - follow the prompts to include the person you want to bring.
  5. Confirm each added person is approved to visit - only approved visitors can be added to a scheduled appointment.

Tip: Before you finalize anything, double-check that the person you’re adding is on the incarcerated person’s approved visitor list. After you submit the change, save a confirmation or screenshot for your records.

Need to cancel? Use the department's

  1. Open “Cancel my visit” - start with the department’s cancellation option (not the add-visitor tool).
  2. Find your scheduled visitation - enter the requested details so the system can pull up your appointment.
  3. Cancel the appointment - complete the prompts to finish the cancellation.
  4. Cancel as soon as you know you can’t make it - earlier changes are easier to manage than last-minute ones.

Reminder: Save the cancellation confirmation (or take a screenshot). If your cancellation doesn’t seem to show up correctly afterward, contact the facility for help.

Watch the cutoffs, especially for weekend visits. If you're visiting on a Saturday or Sunday, your request must be in by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of that same week.

Holidays have their own deadline. For visits on state holidays, submit your request by 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.

Important: Adding visitors or making changes close to a weekend or state holiday? Check the cutoff times first. Miss the deadline and your request won't go through.

  • Save a screenshot or confirmation after you add a visitor or cancel a visit
  • Keep any confirmation messages in a folder so you can pull them up quickly on visit day
  • If your change doesn’t appear correctly after you submit it, contact the facility for help
