How to Schedule Your First Visit at Washington State Prison (GA)

Before you can schedule a visit at Washington State Prison, you need to become an approved visitor. That process starts with the Visitation Request Form. Until it's completed and submitted to the facility, you can't move forward with scheduling.

How to Schedule Your First Visit at Washington State Prison (GA)

Get the Visitation Request Form and fill it out completely. This kicks off the approval process. Submit it to Washington State Prison - the facility where your loved one is housed - for review.

  • Your loved one’s Offender ID (GDC ID)
  • Your name (last, first, and middle name if you use one)
  • Your email address
  • Your relationship to the incarcerated person
  • Your date of birth
  • Your ID type (Driver’s License, State ID, or None)
  • If you select Driver’s License or State ID: the ID number/value (you must be 18+ to choose Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Your telephone number

Submit the completed form to the facility. This triggers the approval process. Before sending it, make a copy for yourself - a photo or scan works fine. You'll want it handy if you need to follow up later.

Once you're approved, requesting a visit is a separate step. Submit your request through the Georgia Department of Corrections visitation form. That's what actually puts you in line for a specific date and time.

Pay close attention to the ID section on the form. You must be 18 or older to select Driver's License or State ID as your ID type. Have the right ID details ready before you start filling it out.

Weekend visits have a firm cutoff: 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week. If you want to visit Saturday or Sunday, submit your request by Wednesday afternoon. Don't wait until the last minute.

Holiday deadlines are even tighter. The cutoff is 5:00 PM, three days before each state holiday. Count back three days and treat that as your hard deadline - waiting too long could push your visit to a later date.

Quick Checklist

  • You completed the Visitation Request Form and are ready to submit it to Washington State Prison
  • You saved a copy of the completed form for your records
  • Your ID details are ready, and you’re following the rule that you must be 18+ to select Driver’s License or State ID
  • After approval, you’re prepared to request your scheduled visit through the Department of Corrections visitation form
  • Your requested date fits the cutoff rules (weekends: by 5:00 PM Wednesday; state holidays: by 5:00 PM three days before)
