Sending Food Packages to Washington State Prison (GA): What you can order, how to send it, and what it costs
If your loved one is at Washington State Prison, food packages go through Georgia's Union Supply program. Here's how to check what's allowed, place an order, and avoid the limits and fees that trip people up.
The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) contracts with Union Supply to deliver food packages to people at GDC State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers - including Washington State Prison. Approved family members and friends can place orders through Union Supply using any of the methods below.
Start with the order form. That's where you'll find the complete list of pre-approved items. Download it from the Georgia Inmate Package website before you start shopping - if something isn't on that list, it's not part of the program.
To order by mail, send your completed form to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd, Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Use the exact address and department number to make sure your order gets routed correctly.
Prefer to order by phone? Call 1-562-361-5719, or use the toll-free number at 1-855-247-0563.
Fax orders go to 1-310-603-1188.
The Georgia Inmate Package website has downloadable order forms with the full pre-approved items list and ordering instructions. Whether you're mailing your order to Union Supply at 2500 Regent Blvd, Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059 or using another method, that form is your starting point.
Every order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling fee. This charge is non-refundable.
Washington State Prison follows the State Prison/ITF package limits: $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package, whichever you hit first.
Probation Detention Centers have tighter limits: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package.
Placing multiple orders for the same person? Union Supply combines them into one package. The combined total still can't exceed the spending or weight limits - multiple smaller orders won't help you get around the caps.
Watch the deadline. Orders received after the program cutoff won't be accepted.
Note: Riverbend Private Prison in Georgia uses the Access Securepak package program instead of Union Supply until further notice.
GDC offers a printable PDF of the food package program details. For the actual product list and ordering instructions, you'll still need the order forms from the Georgia Inmate Package website - that's where the full pre-approved item list lives.
