Fresh Favorites is a separate program - inmates can order prepared food from the kitchen once a week. It runs on its own schedule, so think of it as a weekly window you don't want to miss.

For Fresh Favorites orders to go through, funds must be on the inmate's account by Monday. If you're helping with this, get the money in before that deadline.

Fresh Favorites arrive Thursday or Friday afternoons. Which day depends on housing location - so if your loved one is waiting for a specific delivery, their housing assignment determines whether it's Thursday or Friday.

There's a $100 weekly limit on commissary, and it covers everything combined. Orders placed by family outside the jail and orders placed by the inmate inside all count toward the same $100 cap.

• ✓ If you want Fresh Favorites that week, make sure funds are on the inmate’s account by Monday so that option doesn’t get missed.

• ✓ Keep a simple running total for the week so Fresh Favorites plus commissary doesn’t exceed the $100 limit.

An inmate is considered indigent if they have $5 or less for five consecutive days. This status can affect what commissary items they can access until their balance goes up.

1. Get funds in place by Monday - Fresh Favorites money must be on the inmate’s account by Monday to be processed.
2. Work backward from Wednesday at noon - the weekly commissary cutoff is Wednesday at noon, so plan deposits and ordering early enough to make that deadline.
3. Know when items arrive - commissary is delivered Saturday mornings, while Fresh Favorites arrive Thursday or Friday afternoons depending on housing location.
