You'll need to be on the inmate's approved visiting list before you can visit. Show up without approval, and the jail will turn you away - even if you made plans. Not sure if you're on the list? Have the inmate confirm before they submit a visit request for you.

At Waupaca County Jail, the inmate kicks off the scheduling process. They request a "Visit Request Form," fill it out, and submit it during med pass times. Since med pass is when forms get picked up and turned in, the timing matters for getting you on the schedule.

  1. Pick the visit date - The inmate fills out the Visit Request Form for the date they want the visit.
  2. Turn it in by the morning med pass the day before - The completed form has to be submitted no later than the morning med pass on the day prior to the visit.
  3. Wait for staff to process it - After the form is turned in on time, officers can assign a visit time and return the completed form to the inmate.

You don't get to pick your time slot. Officers assign visit times by filling the earliest available slots in order. Once assigned, a copy of the completed form goes back to the inmate showing the scheduled time.

Note: Phone calls from visitors requesting specific visit times are not accepted. Visit times are assigned by officers based on the earliest available slots.

Limits Duration Notice

  • Visits are 30 minutes.
  • You can have two visits per week.
  • Visits are by appointment only and must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

After officers assign the time, the inmate gets the completed form back. From there, they'll let you know when to come - usually through a collect call or a letter. The key point: the inmate receives the assigned time and passes it along to you.
