Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or legal guardian. If you're not the child's parent or legal guardian, plan ahead. Minors can't attend on their own.

Note: Children under 10 must be supervised at all times. Don't leave them unattended in the lobby or anywhere else in the Sheriff's Office.

Visits are limited to four people total, including children. Decide ahead of time which adults are coming so you don't show up with too many people and get turned away.

Practical Tips

  • Bring a valid photo ID (required for admission).

Pack light. Personal items like packages, handbags, coats, and hats aren't allowed in the Visitation Area. Use the lockers provided or leave things locked in your car. The facility isn't responsible for lost or stolen property, so leave valuables at home when possible.

  • Wear shoes and a shirt.
  • Do not wear transparent materials or tube tops.
  • Make sure clothing covers from the top of the shoulders down to the mid-thigh area.
  • Do not remove or rearrange clothing during the visit (it will end the visit).
  1. Stay in authorized areas only - Loitering or being in an unauthorized area in the Law Enforcement Center or the Jail area is not permitted.
  2. Do not linger in visiting-area corridors - No loitering is permitted on the second or third floor corridors in the visiting area.
  3. Keep clothing in place for the full visit - Any removal or rearrangement of clothing during the visit will result in termination of visitation privileges.

Plan on hands-on supervision the entire time. Children under 10 can't be left unattended in the lobby or anywhere in the Sheriff's Office, and loitering in unauthorized areas of the Law Enforcement Center or Jail isn't allowed. Keep kids close as you move through the building.

Note: If clothing is removed or rearranged during the visit, visitation privileges can be terminated. If you're worried a child may have trouble staying settled, consider bringing another adult so one of you can step out if needed.
