What to Bring (and What Not to) for a Visit at Waupaca County Jail
Showing up prepared makes the difference between a smooth visit and getting turned away at the door. Here's what to bring, what to leave behind, and the rules that can cut your visit short at Waupaca County Jail.
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID - you won't get in without it. At check-in, staff will issue you a Visitor Badge. Keep it on for the entire visit and return it to the officer before you leave.
Dress Code
- ✓ Wear shoes
- ✓ Wear a shirt
- ✓ Skip transparent materials
- ✓ No tube tops
- ✓ Choose clothing that covers from the top of your shoulders down to the mid-thigh area
Note: Any removal or rearrangement of clothing during the visit can result in your visitation privileges being terminated.
Pack light. Personal property - like packages, handbags, coats, hats, and similar items - can’t be taken into the Visitation Area at Waupaca County Jail.
If you show up with items you can't bring in, use the lockers provided or lock your belongings in your vehicle. The jail isn't responsible for lost or stolen property, so leave anything valuable at home.
Expect security screening. All visitors are subject to a wand search or pat-search at any time - plan your outfit and what you carry accordingly.
Warning: Bringing in unauthorized items - or helping with an escape - can lead to felony prosecution.
Keep your group small: only four people total may visit at one time, and that includes children.
- ✓ If you’re bringing anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany them
- ✓ Children under 10 must be supervised at all times and may not be left unattended in the lobby or other areas of the Sheriff’s Office
