At Waupun, your loved one will be pat searched before the visit begins and strip-searched afterward. It's intense, but it's routine - the institution does this to control contraband and keep the visiting area and housing units safe. People in custody at Waupun must wear state-issued clothing during visits - the green shirt, green pants, and state-issued shoes. They can't wear personal clothes in the visiting room, even for special occasions.

State-issued underwear is also required during visits. Non-compliant clothing can cause delays or affect whether the visit happens at all.

Once the visit starts, your loved one has to stay seated at their table. No walking to vending machines, no stepping away to talk elsewhere in the room.
