Visitation

How to Visit Facility

At Wayne County Jail (MI), visits are scheduled through the GettingOut/ViaPath system. Setting up the app or website ahead of time makes scheduling much faster.

To schedule a Visit Now video visit, you'll need either the GTL Friends and Family Visit Now app (the FnF Go app) on your phone or a modern web browser pointed to gettingout.com. Get one of those set up first.

During scheduling, you'll need to accept ViaPath's Terms and Conditions. You'll also search for the person you want to visit by selecting the country, state, and facility, then entering their name to pull up the correct record.

  1. Get to the right platform: Download the GTL Friends and Family Visit Now (FnF Go) app on your phone, or open gettingout.com using a modern browser.
  1. Sign in: Log in to GettingOut.com or the Go Visits app using your email address and password so you can access scheduling.
  1. Search for the incarcerated person: Select the country, state, and facility, then enter the person’s name to locate the correct record.
  1. Accept the terms to confirm: Read the ViaPath Terms and Conditions and check the required boxes. The “I Agree” button only becomes available after the boxes are checked, and that is what allows you to confirm the visit.

What to Verify

  • Make sure the FnF Go app works on your phone, or that gettingout.com loads properly in a modern browser.
  • Test your email and password before you sit down to schedule, so you are not troubleshooting at the last minute.
  • Confirm you can see and check all required Terms and Conditions boxes so the “I Agree” button becomes available.
  • Double-check you selected the correct country, state, and facility, and that you spelled the incarcerated person’s name the way it appears in the system.
