Before Your First Visit to Webb County Detention Center: Dress Code, ID, and Visitor Limits

Webb County Detention Center allows a maximum of three visitors per inmate at one time - adults and children combined. Visits must be approved in advance. If you're 18 or older, bring a current photo ID; staff will check it before letting you through. Plan your group ahead so you're not scrambling to decide who goes in at the last minute.

  • Max of 3 visitors per inmate at one time (adults + children combined), with approval
  • If you’re 18+, bring a current photo ID

The facility has strict rules on bottoms and one-piece outfits: dresses, skirts, jumpers, culottes, skorts, and pants can't be worn more than 2 inches above the knee. Spandex skirts, spandex pants, and leggings are banned entirely. Not sure if something qualifies as spandex or fits too tight? Pick something else. Dressing conservatively saves you a wasted trip.

Warning: If your outfit violates the dress rules, staff can deny or end the visit.

Travel light. Cell phones, pagers, games, and other electronics aren't allowed inside. Neither are weapons, firearms, ammunition, alcohol, narcotics, illegal drugs, or anything that could compromise security. If you accidentally bring a small prohibited item, the facility has lockers - use them instead of trying to carry things further into the building.

  1. Leave prohibited items behind - Don’t bring phones, electronics, alcohol, drugs, firearms, ammunition, or anything that could threaten safety.
  2. Use a locker for small items - If you have small prohibited items with you, store them in the provided lockers.
  3. Follow staff screening and instructions - Expect enforcement of these rules during check-in.

Kids can't visit alone. Anyone under 18 needs an accompanying adult, and the three-person limit still applies (adults and children combined). Bringing a child who isn't with their parent or legal guardian? Expect the facility to ask for additional documentation before allowing entry.

  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • If the adult isn’t the parent/legal guardian, bring any authorization or documentation the facility requires
