Before your first visit to Weber County Jail: ID, dress code, and what to leave behind
Your first visit will go much smoother if you show up with the right ID, the right clothes, and nothing that could get you turned away. Here's your quick prep list.
Adult visitors need a valid government-issued ID to enter Weber County Jail. State, military, tribal, and other government IDs all work. Have yours out and ready when you reach the counter - fumbling through your bag slows the line and could put your visit at risk if you can't produce it quickly.
Dress modestly. Halter tops, tank tops, short skirts, see-through clothing, and anything staff consider revealing are not allowed. When in doubt, go more conservative - staff can deny your visit on the spot if your outfit doesn't meet the dress standard.
Keep your group small. Only three visitors per inmate are allowed in the visiting area at one time. If more people come along, someone will have to wait outside.
Kids can visit, but only with an approved adult. You're responsible for supervising any minors you bring - if staff feel the children aren't under control, they can suspend or end the visit. Remember that children count toward the three-visitor limit.
Keep your phone put away. Cell phones aren't allowed in the visitation area, and visits can be suspended if you're caught taking pictures, showing explicit photos, or setting up a three-way call. The safest move? Leave your phone secured before you enter - no temptation, no misunderstanding.
Note: All visits are monitored and recorded.
Expect screening when you arrive. All visitors go through searches and background checks, so build in extra time and keep what you bring to a minimum. Carrying something you shouldn't? You'll be turned away - and could face more serious consequences. Don't risk it.
