Video Visit Dress Code at Westmoreland County Prison: What You Can and Can't Wear

All video visits at Westmoreland County Prison are recorded. Whatever the camera picks up - your clothing, how much skin is showing, anything in frame - can be captured and reviewed later. Treat a video visit like an in-person visit and dress accordingly.

Specific Rules

• ✓ Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be no more than two (2) inches above the knee
• ✓ No mini-skirts
• ✓ No revealing or low-cut tops
• ✓ No sleeveless tops of any type (including halter, tank, or midriff tops)
• ✓ No pajamas or lingerie

Avoid anything revealing or low-cut on top. Sleeveless tops aren't permitted - that includes halter tops, tank tops, and midriff tops. And even though you're at home, pajamas and lingerie are still off-limits. Staff treat these as inappropriate attire and can end your visit.

1. Check what the camera will actually see - If your neckline is revealing or low-cut, or if your top is sleeveless (including halter, tank, or midriff styles), your video visit can be terminated for inappropriate clothing.
2. Avoid “at-home” outfits that read as sleepwear - Pajamas and lingerie aren’t permitted during video visits, even if you’re calling from your living room.
3. Sit down and re-check your skirt/shorts length - Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be no more than two inches above the knee, and mini-skirts are prohibited; if it rides up when you sit, change before you log on.
4. Don’t risk accidental exposure - If your outfit could expose body parts that are normally covered by clothing while you move around, that exposure is grounds for immediate termination of the visit.
