Video Visitation at Woodbury County Jail: Exact Check-In Windows and Visitor Restrictions

Woodbury County Jail offers video visitation Monday through Friday in two sessions: mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Think of it as one short morning slot and one longer afternoon block - helpful to know if you're juggling work or school pickup.

Here's what trips people up: the required check-in windows. For the morning session, check in between 9:45 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. For the afternoon session, check in between 12:00 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. These aren't suggestions. Woodbury County Jail requires you to check in during the posted window for your session.

You must check in with Jail Administration during the posted check-in times. Show up outside that window - even a few minutes late - and you'll likely be turned away for that session.

Need to sort out timing questions before you arrive? Jail Administration is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. That lines up with the visitation schedule, but late-afternoon issues may have to wait until the next business day.

Woodbury County Jail also enforces arrest-based waiting periods that can block your visit - even if you arrive during the right check-in window. Felony arrest? You may not visit for 1 year. Serious or aggravated misdemeanor? 90 days. Simple misdemeanor? You can visit the following day. Confirm this doesn't apply to you before making the trip. Timing alone won't fix an eligibility restriction.

Note: Woodbury County Jail does not offer video visitation on holidays. Plan ahead so you don’t arrive expecting a session that won’t run.
